Order Entry Specialist / Data Entry Clerk

Pay: $20.00/hour
Location: (Just North of the U.S./Mexico Border)
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday | Set Schedule
Work Environment: 100% In-Office
Position Type: Temp-to-Hire

We are seeking a detail-oriented Order Entry Specialist to join a busy manufacturing environment. This role is highly repetitive and requires exceptional accuracy, strong data entry skills, and the ability to process a high volume of customer orders. Responsibilities

  • Receive, review, and process customer purchase orders and sales orders.
  • Read and interpret handwritten sales orders accurately.
  • Determine appropriate order types, including cash sales, transfers, outside processing, and regular sales.
  • Enter orders into the company system with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Verify customer credit status and coordinate with the Credit and Sales Departments regarding credit-related issues.
  • Enter shipping instructions, credit terms, and special customer requirements.
  • Accurately input inventory items and sales order details.
  • Communicate with sales personnel to resolve order discrepancies.
  • Proofread electronic and printed orders for accuracy.
  • Match supporting documentation to completed sales orders.
  • Process order modifications, voids, and cancellations as needed.
  • Maintain records and logs of canceled orders.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Typing speed of 60 WPM with strong accuracy.
  • Strong 10-key by touch experience.
  • Computer proficiency and experience using business software systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to perform repetitive work in a high-volume environment.
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of general office, clerical, order entry, or data entry experience.
  • Previous experience working for a manufacturing company is a plus.
  • Experience processing customer orders in a fast-paced environment.
